6 SKILL LTD is a Liverpool based education and training consultancy that works with organisations, both commissioners and learning providers, operating in the post-16 education and training sector.

The company was established by its MD, Ian Lomas, in 2024 and offers a range of services and support to commissioning and delivery bodies. Our client base includes Mayoral Strategic Authorities, local authorities and learning providers.

The post-16 sector will continue to face a range of challenges over the coming years and 6 SKILL Ltd provides support that is designed to help raise standards, make provision more relevant and which is focused on growth and the development of a sustainable further education and skills (FES) provider base. 

6 SKILL Ltd believes that if we are to make strides in tackling some of the greater societal challenges we face, be they at a national or local level; reducing NEET and inactivity, boosting Apprenticeships, supporting innovation then we need a healthy and sustainable education and training sector. This is particularly important at a local level, in particular where there is devolved responsibility for education and training. Local decision making, building upon extensive local knowledge of the area and the issues, is key to ensuring that solutions are appropriate. 

At 6 SKILL Ltd we provide high quality, independent and insightful support. We believe that local education providers, who are rooted in the areas they serve, are better placed to deliver education and training solutions yet too often they get overlooked. It is our mission to support the growth of these providers, often small providers, and ensure that they can play a full and active role in delivering education and training solutions.
